thank God its the weekend

ellen degeneres is one of my all time favourites stand-up comedian. i've seen her first time on TV back in '96-97 (lebih kurang ar..) when TV3 aired the 'Ellen' sitcom. it was one of the witty, quirk and funny sitcoms ever. i fell in loved with 'Ellen' instantly. huhu. in one of her shows, she came up with this funny acronym - TGITWE (she pronounced it as 'th-git-we'). she wanted to create something new since TGIF was too common. but of course, it didnt work. her friends ignored her totally as they thought the acronym sounded weird and stupid. haha. unfortunately, 'Ellen' was banned (only in Malaysia) after it was shown for couple of years. :-(

so, thats basically what 'Ellen' is all about. she showcased the versatility of one of the best comedians of the 90s. she exhibited the combination of physical comedy of a modern day lucille ball and dry wit descended from jack benny. the result was hillarious. she still is funny. always make me smile when i see her on her talk show - The Ellen DeGeneres Show.

i think ellen, in away, follows the foot-step of Oprah. giving away money, gifts and all of that good deeds for the public and her audiences. cool stuff. Oprah did say - "the more you give, the more you will get back". i absolutely and totally agree with her. i'd definitely do the same if i have loads of money. hehe. insya'Allah.

nways, for those who didnt know (yet), ellen (50) is actually a lesbian. huhu. she just got married to Portia de Rossi (a super hottie 35yo) who is a star in Ally McBeal, Arrested Development, Nip/Tuck, and among others. they got married in 17-aug-2008 - last weekend in an intimate ceremony at their home in LA.

dont get me wrong. im not supporting nor against the lesbian/gay marriage. its definitely against ISLAM and i am all aware of that. i guess the marriage is between them and God. esok-lusa, pandai-pandai ler jawab soalan itew... hihi. *sigh...*
